Product purchased (mobile air-conditioner) was faulty on delivery. The fan did not work (would not rotate) and no air would come out of the air outlet when the unit was turned on. After a few minutes, there was a burning nylon-type smell - at that point, I turned the unit off and called oo.com.au customer service to inform of the Dead-On-Arrival product, expecting either a replacement or a refund. I have used many .com retailers in the past without any problems and so trusted OO.com.au especially with their 'supposed' reputation!! What a nightmare - I was told it was a warranty problem and nothing to do with OO.com.au, they were rude, uninformative and did not return calls as promised (even the supervisor/manager did not call as requested/promised!). Do not trust this company's customer service ethics or promise - in short pay a few dollars more and be satisfied with the knowledge that if there is a problem you will have the appropriate options available rather than losing your money and feeling very disappointed!! In short, I am out of pocket $550 and am have in my possession a product that does not work and has never worked!

Look up "Trade Practice Act" online (Around section 58, I think), and then consult a lawyer.

A company must provide a product as promised. If they led you to believe something works and it doesn't, it is THEIR problem, not yours (and it is up to them to take it up with the manufacturer, if they believe the problem had nothing to do with them). Either way, THEY are responsible for ensuring you get the goods promised "in the condition promised"....

Don't let them ignore you - threaten legal action. Make sure you read up on the relevant parts of the Trade Practices Act - then you'll sound much more serious.

Find which state they are based in, and contact the Office for Fair Trade in that state. They will probably say they can't do much, but they WILL contact them and ask questions (which in my experience scares companies into acting).

If they sold you a dud, make sure THEY fix it for you!!!!
