I finally got my camera on via FedEx, it come from some where in Malaysia. Nick never replied back to give me the tracking number or explain why he didn’t answer my messages. I received an Email from Tony (who could actually be Nick, but who knows) he sent me the Tracking number, and not a word about why they didn’t replay to all my emails. I was concerned they were blocking my emails so I send two emails from different email addresses. The email asking for the tracking number got no reply. The one from my second email address asking for a quote on an expensive Phone did get a reply... hmmm hmmm
I see a few real problems with the way this online shop works. They reply emails too slow. Sometimes only in the late afternoon or mid night, that made me think they were running the business from overseas or after work (real work). After an item has been sold they shouldn’t ignore or ban emails of customers who are trying to get some info on their purchases. Even more, those customers should be given some kind of priority. They want to feel reassured that the shop is doing the right thing, even if the Tracking Number is not available yet. They are killing their own business, as customers don’t get a quick reply they start getting bad reviews. And is true that some customers such as Frank01 (who kindly replied my last message) get their product lost and are left on their own to get their money back (if they can).
I bought my camera for about half the Australian price, and the FedEx parcel was declared for ¼ of what I paid. If the parcel gets lost then FedEx will be responsible (if any insurances apply) to a maximum equal to the declared value of the goods. If a parcel is lost then there is no way you can get all your money back unless youshop247 is willing to return the other ¾ of the price they charge.
Some one asked about youshop247 phone number… well, the owners of the shop are a registered Australian business bluetonic pty ltd you can check their details in the Australian business register website www.abr.gov.au just do a search and enter their name bluetonic. I am sure they have to provide a phone number to get an ABN or an ACN, so the government should have their records some where.
The good thing about youshop247 and other Australian owned online shops is that they are run by an Australian registered business, so all the Australian consumers and corporate laws apply to them (ASIC, DOCEP, etc)… All the people ripped off by any online shop should let ASIC and DOCEP know of any wrong doing they will investigate.
I did receive my purchase, but it is very scary to have no feedback from the shop while the parcel is on its way. I think it is true, all reputable online shops should have a phone number to call, and calls should be answered by people not machines, at least during business hrs.
