No point buying this Acer laptop

Strengths: Low power consumption, low price tag

The Acer is not a Toshiba. By this I mean that the Acer Laptops cannot beat Toshiba when it comes to the budget category and the 5220 falls short on the features front as well. Having said that, it is worth noting that the Acer is not a complete write-off. The laptop is quite well suited for average usage and is designed to look a lot more expensive than it actually in. the

The biggest plus point which we were able to identify with the Acer 5220 is that it had a low power consumption level but in all honesty, how many laptop buyers consider that as a critical criteria before buying a machine? The Acer's screen size is also slightly (ok, very slightly) smaller than the other laptops in the same category and that is a bit of a damper. Apart from this, the performance of the 5220 is just about OK which means that it does is good for simple use but cannot be relied on for heavy gaming or any other purpose.

On the portability front, the Acer 5220 scores a good score of eight on ten and that makes it look quite sleek as well. The pricing is also good (but not as good when you start comparing the features of the laptop) and that might be the only reason why users would stop and evaluate this laptop. Acer, however, needs to spruce up its act or it is likely to start fading very fast in the growing laptop market.
