Here's a good HP scanner worth considering

Strengths: Decent speeds, scans film as well, reasonably priced

The HP Scanjet G3010 is a vast improvement from other Scanjet category of scanners and is most suitable for home based users who are looking for a scanner which helps them scan their holiday pictures easily. Do keep in mind that as a flatbed scanner, the Scanjet G3010 takes a fair amount of space so you should be prepared to clear up your desktop a bit.

Like other Scanjet scanners from HP, the G3010 is quite affordable which is one of the major reasons for the scanner's popularity. The scanner has the added advantage of working with not just regular photos and documents but can also scan slides and film which is quite cool. If you have scanned film at a store, you will recall just how expensive it is do so!

There is no major complaint which I have about the G3010…it works pretty well and is suitable for most scanning types. However, the downside is that it is not meant for office use where there might be high volumes and that is something one should keep in mind when evaluating this scanner. The HP Scanjet also works well with most HP printers and though there isn't any major software apps included with the scanner, you will find the going quite smooth.
