Good for the occasional scan

Strengths: Very reasonably priced, well designed scanner

Weaknesses: Not very simple to install and use, slow and not meant for bulk scanning

Flatbed scanners are very easy to use and can easily be configured by a novice. The HP Scanjet 2400 however, is a different story all together as it does not come equipped with a very user friendly interface. Installing the 2400 is not an easy task and I would recommend practicing slow breathing to calm you down and then allow you to continue with the scanning.

The 2400 is also not a very fast scanner and that makes it unsuitable for two things, one is bulk scanning and the other is office use. The HP Scanjet 2400 is good enough for home based users who have simple requirements such as an occasional document or photos. The pricing of 2400 is what makes the scanner very interesting as it is very low-priced making it an attractive option for the category of people mentioned above.

Accommodating the scanner on a small desktop might also be an issue to reckon with since it is takes up quite a lot of space and that might not be such a viable idea for the occasional scan. Anyways, the HP Scanjet 2400 rates a five on ten on performance and installation front and an eight on ten when it comes to pricing. The choice of buying this scanner is totally dependant on your requirements.
