Strengths: New interface features and easy drag and drop functionality

Weaknesses: Search function does not work, crashes quite often and very resource hungry. Not worth the price and upgrade.

Microsoft Outlook has always had mixed reactions and the 2007 version is no different. It might be worth mentioning that the software does have some very good new user interface tricks but then they are just that….tricks. The Outlook 2007 does not impress too much when it comes to the functionality and one rues the fact that serious software development companies like Microsoft are moving towards focusing on just the interface design of the product.

For example, the search feature is really pathetic and over a period of time you will find yourself using this feature less and less. Other than that, don’t even try to ring in tech support. You are likely to be flabbergasted at the pricing and if it is formatting that is bothering you, learn to live with it as that is not going to change anytime soon. Outlook's core email client is good and all that was needed was good logic to keep it all going.

However, there will be one set of people who are very likely to upgrade to Outlook 2007 and that is the group which is already using the application in its previous avatar. Go ahead and upgrade if you like to state that you are one of those people who like to stay on top of things and flaunt the fact that you have latest softwares.
