Definitely multi-functional, the Canon PIXMA MX310's sleek lines are impressive not just on the looks front but also on the output front. A mid-level multifunctional printer, the Canon PIXMA is well suited for home offices as you can space a lot of space and headache of managing multiple printing, scanning and fax units. The MX310 appears to be quite stable as well as it does not shake or look inept while performing any of its set functions.

The printer aspect of this Canon printer is just fine but the scanning is not AS sharp as you would get in a dedicated scanner. Large scans are also not possible since the edge gets cut off prematurely. Since home users do not usually need scanners with very high DPI, the MX310 is not really a problem. Though setting up the printer is an easy task and the help guide is really useful you might feel a bit bogged down when you try to set up the fax which is complicated and gave us a few false starts in the beginning.

I am sure you would have read through the specs and noted the fact that the Canon PIXMA MX 310 is not a networked printer (though I wish it was…the cost per page printed is really reasonable). What is surprising is that the Canon printer does not look all large but is fairly big and needs good amount of space on the desk. So if you have a cramped space, do measure the printer before buying it. I fully recommend this printer to anyone who is looking for a multi-purpose machine since it so quite good in performance and low on maintenance.
