Mobile features missing in iPAQ 112 make it a poor deal

Strengths: Excellent battery life and super-fast processor speed

Weaknesses: No mobile functionality makes it a bad bargain

The HP iPAQ 112 might be one of the unsung heroes when it comes to PDAs. Larger, than many other PDAs, the iPAQ 112 has a decent (if not large) sized screen which makes for comfortable reading and the phone is quite light even then. The iPAQ 112 beauty lies not in the way it looks but in the processor speed which is lightening fast and makes it stand out from the new PDAs which have heavy applications weighing the processor down.

The iPAQ however, does not make the cut as the features of the iPAQ 112 are now commonly available with most smart phones and that tends to drive people away from the 112. Even then, the iPAQ stands out with the fantastic battery life it sports which lets you do many tasks. You still wish for cellular connectivity but tend to enjoy the nice sound the iPAQ 112 offers for music playback.

With HP PDAs fast loosing on market due to lack of innovation, the 112 is likely to die an untimely death. The problem is that the iPAQ is not bad…it is just that there are other PDAs with cellular facilities now available to users, making the 112 obsolete. It might be quite soon that the 112 will reappear in a new avatar which would include mobile functionality and that is definitely going to be one PDA worth waiting for! Till then, the 112 is nice to look, but not to own!
