Horrible Service. Be warned before buying Apple Products about Warranty

Strengths: Reliable products. Hopefully will never have to use it.

Weaknesses: Call support, product replacement, limited warranty.

I have been on the phone with AppleCare for two hours. My power cord sparked and burned. Therefore, it couldn't charge my Ipod. I had gotten the warranty and thought the replacement would be easy. I called and besides being on hold for 20 minutes. I was told if I wanted it any sooner than a week, I could go to an authorized mac dealer. He gave me some local mac dealers and a case number. I called the businesses and they said that apple makes them hold the computer for 48 hours and run tests on it. they also said it would take up to 10 days to get the part. So I called Apple back, waited 20 minutes and talked with someone who said I had to give my credit card information. I told him I wasn't comfortable with that. He said there was nothing else I could do. I asked if I could talk to a supervisor and he put me on hold again. After 30 minutes I hung up and called back. I talked with another person and insisted that a manager call back because I wasn't going to wait for another 30 minutes. I am still waiting. I will probably give my credit card info. But I'll tell you Dell never made me gove my information. I'll probably go back to them on my next computer. I like having an apple, but the exclusivity of the brand is too much of an inconvenience.
