Why do LG phones not get the same consumer interest as its competitors?

Strengths: Nice slider function, good compact size

Weaknesses: Keypad and camera are a bit under-powered and not very popular

Slider phones have been my personal favorite since the first one launched more than seven years ago (can't recall the name of the phone at this point) and the LG M6100 manages to offer a really smooth slider function which is quite impressive. However, the sliding function cannot be enough to satisfy discerning users and in turn it does create some issues with the LG M6100 overall usability.

The first area to get affected with the slider function is the keypad of the phone. Though the keys are reasonably placed, they tend to get a bit camouflaged with the top of the phone and the lack of tactile keys may irk some users. Another disappointment with the LG M6100 is that like other phones in this ilk, it comes without a built-in flash for the camera. The lack of flash and auto focus reduces the value-for-money quotient of the phone in the eyes of the user.

Apart from the slider feature, the LG M6100 offers a compact solution for mobile telephony and the size of the phone manages to find many takers for the phone. What strikes me as a bit strange is that there are very few users who are interested in an LG phone. The only major channel of sales for most LG phones is through attractively-priced service provider plans and the LG M6100 (with all its relevant bells and whistles) is not on the top of the list for many buyers.
