Strengths: Good picture quality, very affordable price tag and comes pre-fitted with a table stand

Weaknesses: Only available in silver and is thicker than other models of plasma tv

The Plasma TV fever seems to have made regular televisions redundant and if you too are bitten by this bug, then you need to get your hands on the Mitsubishi 42 inch plasma TV which provides a high level of viewing pleasure as well as a very reasonable price tag. The DV42P1 has all the trappings of your moderate level plasma TV and also has some additional features which makes it a good buy.

One of the best characteristics of the TV is that it has a high contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and equally bright settings. This obviously influences the picture quality which is one of the best in this category of televisions. There are other minor advantages with this plasma television and that is the availability of picture in picture technology which is a life savior when you want to watch two channels at the same time without missing the program on either one! Like other plasma televisions, this one too is quiet and has 10 watt inbuilt speakers which provide the right sound effect. Though the television is slightly thicker that other models in the plasma television category, you do not mind it since there is a substantial pricing difference when you compare it with the slimmer models.

This television also comes with a table stand (which subsequently saves you the additional expense of buying a stand) and can be put to use as soon as it is out of the box. The silver body also matches with most house interiors and some people might not buy it if they are specifically looking for a television which has a black body. This plasma TV gets my vote as it is very price friendly and does not look cheap or is a lower configuration version of a better model.
