I've been using Whirlpool dishwashers for about 5 years. The first one broke down about 3 months out of warranty. After a lot of phone calls & e- mails I finally got it replaced at a reduced price. The new one blew a control card about 4 months out of warranty & I had it fixed. That was about 6 months ago & it's just blown up again. All I can say is NEVER buy a Whirlpool, the only part thats made in Germany is the Plastic label on the front. Don't waste your money, a dishwasher should be good for at least 5 years.

hey there....this Err4 seems to be quite mysterious....I looked it up on various forums and it has come up with nothing. In fact, all I found were more people asking about the same error...so if you do get a response let me know as well so I can post it back to those forums which have people looking for the same information. Surprisingly, I could get information for all other errors on other Whirlpool products like the washing machine etc but come up with nothing for Error 4!

I spoke to whirlpool today who said a repair man has to come and look at it. I rang him and he is going to be at least 2 weeks! It really annoys me when the dishwasher is only a month old. So check back here in 2 weeks, or lets say 3 weeks because they never stick to their word, and i'll let you know what happened!!

the repair man never came because I managed to fix it myself. give the filter a good clean and make sure nothing is blocking the drain, then turn dishwasher off at the powerpoint for a few hours. Turn it back on and hey presto- good as new!!

I have the solution! Had error 4 and had the repair guy come....he said its caused by too many suds...if you are using tablets that have rinse aid as well as rinse aid, it causes to many bubbles, these get sucked down the two little outlets (located at the bottom of the dishwasher door, easy to see if you open the door completly) and make the water level in the base seem higher than it actually is which triggers the over flow button. Now to fix it is SUPER hard....NOT! Just pull out your dishwasher, and tip it back slightly. The water stuck in the base will trickle out...not much but will take 5-10 mins. Then turn it on, run on a rinse cycle to be sure its all gone! Easy Peesy. I called whirpool about this, and why they could not tell me how to fix it is beyond me......they told me to press and hold the start button...i dont think even they know how to fix it! So...I got to do this under warranty, now hopefully you get to fix it for free and we all win. Yay!

Dear Kazzbarr
Thanks so much for that info. Our dishwasher has sat in the kitchen idle for months. I decided to google "Whirlpool ADP6000WH Err 4" (better late than never) and here I am. It worked, thanks heaps. I tried ringing Whirlpool direct and agents and no one could help. And you my friend made it seem all so easy. I owe you a beer, Cheers
