Canon seems to have finally got into the mainstream of DVD video cameras by launching the DC 10 DVD Video Camera which has features and looks of a winner. The pricing of the video camera has been upped several notches from the previous series and thus it becomes necessary to evaluate the camera closely to see the overall performance of the camera when compared with its digital peers.

The image size has been improved significantly which in turn provides better vide output. However, if you plan to go professional with this DVD video camera then you may not appreciate the fact that the colors do not show up as brightly as you would expect them to. The camera does have an excellent zoom mode (up to 10x) and this makes it a perfect companion for those who are out shooting adventure videos. The resolution at maximum zoom does not get pixilated which is a fantastic achievement for this DVD video camera.

There are many parameters which you can compare with when getting to understand the benefits of using the DC 10. The handling of the camera is very easy and you can feel it nestle into your palm and become an extension of your hand. The styling of the camera is quite well done and has the look of the camera is one of the best selling points of this video camera. The angular look of the camera makes it look quite high-tech though the features might not match up to it.

The verdict on this camera is that it would be better if Canon improved some of the performance issues in the camera and launched a slightly cheaper version of this model to make it an attractive buy for amateur users.
