One of the best things about Canon is that it keeps launching new products with regularity which has a high level of improvements from the previous version. For example, the MV 940 is definitely a significant improvement from the MV 920. One of the major differences is the fact that you can practice your photography skills by running using the multitude of manual controls provided in the camera. If manual controls are not your thing, switch to the auto-mode and be ready to witness some really good video footage!

The pricing of the MV 940 makes it possible for most people to buy a camcorder and enjoy the user-friendly features of the camera such as the extra-wide LCD screen which makes playback of videos very easy to view or the 25x optical zoom which lets you shoot distance objects without any problem. Though the camcorder has the option of still photographs, the images are not all that great so you might want to give that a miss. Most users prefer to use different camera for stills and video anyways.

The camcorder exteriors is average looking while the steel finish helps protect the camera from scratches and the lens cover is really a boon for careless users like me! The rest of the camera is quite functional, though you might not appreciate the bottom loading compartment for the video tape, you can get used it over a period of time. However, one of the inherent problems of the MV920 continues in the MV940 and that is the loss of quality of video when used in low-lit environment. Let’s hope Canon manages to change this in subsequent models!
