Full Review
The Canon PowerShot A430 digital camera is the base model in the A-series line of cameras offered to consumers by Canon and, while offering great medium-level performance, the product is actually geared at beginner-level photographers, meaning limited functionality, making it a somewhat inappropriate purchase for an experienced photographer who is looking for something more sophisticated. The resolution is a full 4.0 megapixels, and you have the capability of reaching a 4x optical zoom. However, the LCD screen is quite small, at only 1.8 inches, and the ISO speed is adjustable only up to 400.

At the same time, if high performance photography is not required, the camera is a great value for the purchase price. The Canon PowerShot A430 offers a widescreen view and comes equipped with eight Special Scene modes, such as Portrait and Indoor, plus five Photo Effects modes, such as Vivid or Black & White. On top of these options, the camera also allows users to record video with sound in the event that a photograph will not suffice.

As an easy-to-use beginner camera, the Canon PowerShot A430 operates on AA batteries, as do all the A-series cameras produced by Canon. Using just two of these batteries, you can expect to take up to 360 shots (though claims typically are high and you should probably count on about ¾ of that number) before having to change the batteries.

The PowerShot A430 has a high shutter speed so that you can expect to capture the moment appropriately. In the event that you are in the market for a decent camera at a good price, the Canon PowerShot A430 is likely the best camera to suit your needs. At a low cost for digital camera, it provides several features of higher end cameras that can assure you your pictures will turn out clear and beautiful.
