Full Review
A review of the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-N1 digital camera leaves one wondering if cameras get any better. If you are picky, you can find a few basic flaws, but these are so minimal and pointless that you’d seem petty to point them out. The size of a deck of cards with a huge 3-inch LCD screen, the technical features leave nothing to be desired.
The LCD display DSC-N1 offers touch-screen usage, and the internal memory is a full 26MB, allowing for huge amounts of storage. This translates to being able to save up to 500 large images, with which you can file, create slide shows to a soundtrack, or easily create digital albums without a computer. The quality of a picture taken with an 8.1 megapixel lens allows you to print clear, high-definition photos at immense sizes (up to 16x22 inches).
Powered by a Lithium-Ion battery, you’ll find that the DSC-N1 can take up to 270 shots on a single charge, and the rechargeable battery will save you on the cost AA’s. MPEG video with VGA resolution can be captured at thirty frames per second, and response time on the camera brings almost no drag. Also, the automatic ISO speed creeps all the way up to 800, negating the need for a red-eye-inducing flash even in low-level lighting.
If the camera has any flaws, it might be that the optical zoom is limited, at only 3x. Several other cameras in the same price range offer greater zoom ability. However, you’ll find that the lens is pure glass, with no plastic involved, giving you flawless image capture capability.
Best of all, the DSC-N1 contains several advanced features, but this doesn’t inhibit a beginner from using the typical features with ease, either. The camera is versatile and easy to use for individuals of all experience levels, and if you can get past the price tag, the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-N1 digital is one of the best cameras on the market.
