Strengths: Good overall protection for simple PC user.

Weaknesses: System performance is really effected by this program.

I was previously using CA Anti-Virus. Was very happy with the product but felt the $99 license renewal fee was excessive. I decided to change to McAfee as it was a reasonable price and provided all the prtection required for me as a basic PC user.

This program has basically rendered my PC unusable since installed. Downloading e-mails can take up to an hour. If you disable the need to scan individual e-mails then the program constantly tells you that you are not protected.

The program updates on a daily or semi-daily basis. Whilst doing so it is impossible to use the system as it is so slow it makes you want to throw your PC out a window. Then after downloading it wants to do installs and the like - again the PC is basically unusable. My PC was doing this for about 45 minutes just before I wrote this review.

in short very, very disappointed with this program and would consider throwing it out and paying for CA again just to improve my system performance.
