Strengths: Combines Phone and GPS very well, sleek and stylish looking

Weaknesses: Pricey, camera lets you down and no 'wow' factor

If you from the school of thought which thinks that a separate GPS device is a waste of technology, then the Mitac MIO A701 is meant for you. Though this phone is not affiliated with any of the big manufacturing names such as Nokia or Motorola, it still manages to deliver a wealth of features easily included in a pretty sleek exterior. The MIO A701 obviously features one of the best GPS features you can find in any mobile phone.

As a phone, the Mitac does offer a wide range of features which includes a camera, PDA-style productivity tools and so on. However, the performance of some of the features might be lacking since they are not exactly what you would expect from such an expensive phone. Speaking about the price, the Mitac does not come cheap and this might result in some re-thinking from the point of view of the buyer. After all, there are many cheaper options available which can compete with the Mitac.

Generally speaking, the MIO A710 is a good device which combines two important functions of GPS and phone but it has its limitations and the price tag also results in putting in a couple of notches down in the buyers' list. On the looks front, the MIO does have the nice sleek look once would expect in a PDA but does not really stand out in the gaggle of me-too mobile phones which are available in the stores.
