Full Review
The long-awaited Motorola Razr V3i, an update to the prior Razr V3, was exciting to some while a disappointment to others. With improved video and picture capabilities, some phone buyers applauded Motorola’s initiative. However, many cellular enthusiasts expected the Razr V3i model to provide the iTunes capabilites offered by other handsets but noticeably lacking on the Razr V3. While models in the United States did come iTunes-equipped, other portions of the world, including Australia and Great Britain, will have to wait for future models to partake of this enhancement.
To fully appreciate the Razr V3i, it is necessary to view it as a completely separate phone from its predecessor, the Razr V3. A stylish handset, the Razr V3i is small enough to fit in most pants pockets, slim enough to be gripped while closed in even the smallest hand, yet versatile enough to handle its many features with ease. A drawback, however, can be its sleek size, which lacks the durability to sustain any drops, significant dings or harsh impacts.
The internal camera in the Razr V3i features an 8x zoom with 1.23 megapixel resolution, capable of capturing perfectly posed shots that can then be sent in email, text messages or downloaded onto MicroSD removeable memory cards. The camera phone capabilities extend to video recording and playback functions that allow for the capture of short snippets – if relying on internal memory – or longer scenes with the aid of memory cards. The Razr V3i displays a great external screen that allows the owner to know time and date statistics at all times as well as providing ample space for call and text alerts, without making it necessary to open the phone. Great for travelers, external communications can be turned off while in airplane mode to allow access to calendars, games and music, if the model is equipped with iTunes. Overall, a good buy, but waiting for the next model might be wise.
