Full Review
If you want to be able to control all the features and cycles of your wash, then stay away from the LG WTR 107. This machine is absolute rubbish and I'm sorry I bought it.
I previously owned an 8kg LG washer, which I purchased new in the late 1990s, and it was great. Multiple options, which you could control, including the water level the water temperature, and how long you actually wanted the wash cycle to last.
I decided to update to a bigger machine in late 2008, so that I could do large blankets, quilts, etc. I naivley assumed that the WTR 107 would have offered all the options of my previous smaller LG washer. How wrong I was!
There's no lint filter for starters. Even if you separate the clothes, you still end up with lint (which I never had a problem with, with the previous washer), and you can't manually control the water level or how long you want the wash cycle to last. Sure, there's multiple set wash options, but it just doesn't give you the same control, because while one of the set options will give you one of the features you're after, it'll give you another set feature that you don't want for a particular wash. I should have done my homework and not just assumed that the WTR 107 would be a larger version of my 8kg LG washer.
Having spent over $1000 on this machine, I am bitterly disappointed. If I could afford it, I'd sell the WTR 107 and buy another brand (after careful research). We will be buying a plasma TV in the near future, and there's no way in the world I'll be buying an LG TV (regardless of how good the picture looks in the shop), or any other LG product, after this experience. To boot, I'm dis-recommending LG to any family and friends who are in the market for a washing machine.
