Vista managed to create a decent furor at the pre-launch stage but does not manage to meet expectations to the level expected. Though there have been many conversions to Vista, users still find it difficult to install it on a machine which has had a legacy operating system in the first place. Microsoft fans are quite likely to convert to Windows Vista as soon as it launches but it might be worthwhile to cross check if you really need to convert if you are currently happy with the OS you use.

There aren’t many changes from the XP and this is apparent when you start checking out the Vista in detail. There is some graphic improvement (but that does nothing to enhance your user experience) and there is really new softwares which you can get excited about. What you can enjoy is the fact that the Vista crashes a lot less than the XP and that in itself should be a blessing. However, resource hungry Vista might not be what you are looking for in an older system.

You are likely to miss the Search feature which is not easy to find and you would need to literally 'search' for it. Other than that, the Vista works pretty OK in most PCs. Managing digital media is quite easy with the Vista but that is something which home users are likely to find useful…there is very little new for the business users and thus less businesses are likely to change over to the Vista just for the heck of it.
