LG Dishwasher

I wish I had seen a review regarding LG prior to my purchase of an LG dishwasher. I purchased an LG14AT2 in Oct 2004. I took the manual out of the box and gave the dimensions to our cabinet maker so I could have my kitchen built around it. The unit was never removed from its packaging or box whilst the house was being built. It was only installed in March 2007. I have used it sparingly - perhaps fortnightly until a month ago when it stopped working. It recorded an error stating there was a leak. I had a service technician come to investigate and was told that the impala has spun off the motor - apparently a very common problem with LG. I have only used it for a whole total of 14mths. The estimated cost??? $500 - but this could rise if he finds any other problems. LG's stand??? The warranty applies from date of purchase NOT INSTALLATION. Extemely poor attitude and they are totally uninterested in the fact that it was only installed 14 mths ago - despite having a compliance certificate from the plumber to prove this fact. SUPPOSEDLY the LG dishwasher has a lifespan of 7 - 10 yrs. Mine has fallen extremely short of this claim. To replace the LG - $1200 - TO GET A MIELLE WHICH HAS THE SAME SETTINGS AS THIS LG - $1400 WITH a lifespan of 15-20 yrs - I will let you work out where I am going shopping.

I will never buy LG again. Ours has just died completely. Before that we had TWO 'design faults' fixed - after they had broken - and neither had been recalled. It has rusted - considering it is meant to work with water, this is a surprise. The hinge on the door broke, The screws on the inside door panel are coming out and it has never washed properly. If I could be bothered there are a number of other things but needless to say I won't buy from this mob again.
