Strengths: Floral, reasonably priced and classical tones make it a good buy

Weaknesses: Not very popular, packaging is too simple

The bottle of Paris by YSL looks very simple and that might be one of the reasons for you to give it a miss….but as a seasoned perfume buyer, the one piece of advice which I can give you is that don’t just a book…I mean a bottle, by its cover. Some of the world's best perfumes are packaged simply and I have made it a point to check out the simple bottles first!

Paris does not disappoint me and proves that there is some truth in my theory. Simply named Paris, the perfume tries to capture some of the essence of the urban city and conjures up a perfume which is romantic and has prominent floral tones to give it a truly feminine feel. You can experience the aromatic tones of roses, iris, oriental geranium and the soft yet distinctive fragrance of mimosa. Paris works well for day wear and is a signature perfume of quite a few people.

Even with such good fragrant tone and a very affordable price tag, this YSL perfume eludes most users and is not as popular as you would expect it to be. One of the reasons I figured out was that the perfume is very light and even though it does have ending tones of musk…it does not last as long as I would like it. Apart from that, perception of a low price tag from a high-end fashion house like YSL might also work to its disadvantage. Whatever the reason, Paris continues to be a good perfume and there is no reason for you not to pick up a bottle today.
