Full Review
The ZEN X-Fi 16GB MP3 player is a slim, portable multimedia device that is the first gadget to incorporate the X-Fi technology from Creative. Also, this portable multimedia device is the first player under the Zen category to use Wi-Fi technology. Satrting off with the body, the player is built out of plastic, which lends a cheap, unfinished, and a low-quality feel. The looks aren’t mind blowing, but they aren’t disappointing either. The best point about this player is that it offers a bag load of features at a very nominal price.
The best selling point about the player is the solid audio and video performance it has to offer. The music, when played, sounds rich, crisp, detailed and also has enough thumps. The X-Fi technology from Creative, especially the Crystalizer, restores sound elements that were lost during file compression. Expand is another technology that enables the widening of sound for better clarity. The screen is really impressive and results in vibrant photos and impressive video display with good color saturation and detail.
The sad part is that, the videos in certain formats cannot be played directly and have to be transcoded with a software that comes in the package. The battery life for audio lasts only for 11.11 hours, which is a major let down. The interface is great and you can customize it based on your preference. Overall, the ZEN X-Fi 16GB MP3 player, with all its impressive features, is definitely a safe bet.
