“Works Well as a Simple Music Player”

Strengths: Good design, good build quality, good sound quality, affordable.

Weaknesses: mediocre screen quality, average photo-viewing feature, not feature-rich, control scheme is not user-friendly, no video playback

The first thing one will notice about the T6 4GB Mp3 player from iRiver is its sleek, slim and shiny design. The body is given a smooth surface complemented by a piano-black finish. A brushed black metal finish is given to the rear of the player, making the player look expensive than it really is. The LCD screen measures 1.8 inches diagonally and is designed with a six-button interface. Available at close to hundred dollars apiece, the T6 is an ideal budget-Mp3 player.

The T6 has a 4GB flash memory and a battery life that can withstand 28 hours of playback time. The quality of audio playback is on par with that of a budget Mp3 player. FM playback and voice recording of this player is impressive, and also offers a good reception and channel surfing feature.

For a player that offers a good sound quality, the T6 is a major disappointment in its screen display capacity. The screen is not bright enough and also has a highly reflective surface, which makes viewing in daylight a terrible experience. Photo viewing feature is not upto the mark, and the image rendering, which is unbelievably slow, only adds fuel to the fire. You cannot play videos and the audio feature supports only WMA and MP3 files.

The verdict is that for an audio playback device, the iRiver T6 is as good as any other budget player. When it comes to video and screen features, it is a major disappointment.
