Here we go, it’s an 8800 grand slam at the arena and we are set for another ride with Finland’s mobile king, Nokia. The Nokia 8800 Mobile Phone is neither the latest nor the greatest of Nokia mobile phones. But yes, it hits a home-run with its premium design.

Simply put, the Nokia 8800 is one beautiful piece of design. Its distinct metallic design and the slim form factor will make you fall in love with it in no time. A scratch-resistant display is a wise move, considering the fact that you have to invest a whopping sum to own the phone. The TFT 208 x 208-pixel screen is vibrant and colourful, even in direct sunlight. There is no beating Nokia when it comes to the user interface and even the 8800’s intuitive interface doesn’t let you down. The phone features Audio Enhancing and so there is no problem with the reception and clarity.

The other features offered by the Nokia 8800 are a mixed bag. There is a 0.5 megapixel camera hidden behind the slider. A 0.5 resolution is really paltry by today’s standards. Its multimedia features include a music playback and an FM tuner. You’d better get an iPod if you are buying the phone for music. On the connectivity front, you get Bluetooth, and there is no infrared. The phone comes with EDGE support. This is not offered in Australia. Dealing with the cramped up buttons on the 8800’s last row is an arduous task.

The phone is way too pricey. Buy it ONLY if you are fond of flaunting high- priced phones in these cash-stripped days.
