Sony-Ericsson, one of the best mobile manufacturing companies, has now released the W980i. The sleek black casing of this clamshell model has an external screen that swarms keys to help you activate the music player even without opening the phone. In addition, the screen displays both music and calling information. The colour screen inside is 2.2-inch large; while the call keys, shortcut keys and a navigation key are placed intuitively below it. Though the black glossy finish looks great on one’s hand, it is very annoying that it’s very sensitive to fingerprints and needs constant wiping to maintain the gloss. While closed, the phone is quite compact, but it grows too long once it is opened. Not everyone will like such tall phones.

The feature that needs highlight is the built-in Walkman music player that allows you to enjoy quality music wirelessly. It comes loaded with many advanced music features. To change the song, just shake the phone. Thanks to the shake control. The SensMe feature lets you create playlists of songs of the same style or tempo to match your mood. The other features that make listening music easy and quick are PlayNow, TrackID and the Gracenote Mobile MusicID service. It also has a FM radio included.

An integrated 3.2 megapixel camera is an added feature of the phone, but the worst part is that the camera does not have autofocus or a flash.

The Sony-Ericsson W980i offers an 8GB memory giving you a relief. The Bluetooth, HSPDA, USB and the EDGE technologies enable easy transfer of data from other devices.

To end up, it is quite a well-entertaining phone that does many apart from basic phoning.
