The first one to come in the line of wrist-worn computers is the Zypad WL 1000. Now Zypad has introduced another new model, the Zypad WR1100 GPS that comes in a rugged form especially to suit those who work in harsh environments. Housed in a fiberglass-reinforced nylon or magnesium alloy casing, it is one of the most durable yet light weighted GPS.

Powered by Linux based Kernel 2.6 operating system, the WR1100 is a dominant wearable computing device ever produced by Zypad. This wrist-worn computer has an extended battery life of minimum 4 hours operation. The WR1100 weighs 290 grams and is shaped to the contours of the body that allows you to strap it on your wrist comfortably. It is more suitable than a PDA in your pocket, as it’s exactly on your wrist offering ease of usage.

It features a 3.5-inch TFT touchscreen with an automatic contrast mode, which enables it to be used even in direct sunlight. This GPS features 11 backlight buttons for easy usage when lighting itself is a problem. Functionality-wise, the Zypad comes with GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee that are very much needed for communication with other users and electronics. For further future enhancements, the Zypad WR1100 GPS has a mini secure digital memory slot and USB ports.
