Packed with an array of features, the iRiver E100 8GB MP3 Player is a decent choice for people who are looking for an easy-to-use media player. This Flash-based media player resembles early-generation iPods.

First things first, the design department needs to really step up. The control pad is made of plastic and this gives the player a cheap feel. The small centre button is difficult to press and the controls are slightly slow to respond. Don’t expect quick navigation on the E100. The real bummer is its mediocre music playback quality with the speakers on the rear adding hardly any value to its performance. If you are a stickler for sound quality, then look elsewhere.

All said and done, you will find yourself tinkering with the E100 MP3 Player too often because it has plenty of desirable features on the offing like the photo and video support, voice and line-in recording, a text viewer, an FM radio and the autoscan functionality. The iRiver E100 8GB MP3 Player can sync with both Windows and Mac PCs. It supports almost all popular audio formats-MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, and ASF files and also supports subscription services such as Rhapsody. The 8GB player can store tons of music and the memory can be further expanded via the microSD card slot.

The iRiver E100 is definitely loaded with features but needs to scale up in a few areas to find a place amidst the highest-scoring MP3 players in the market.
