Strengths: Simple portable DVD player, accepts many formats, can be plugged on to various external devices and has a decent size screen

Weaknesses: Battery life should be a bit longer

Looking for entertainment while on-the-move? The Omni D290 is cool looking portable DVD player which comes with a swivel screen making viewing very comfortable. The screen is sized at 9.5 inches which might not be all that big for some users but is comfortable enough for viewing video while on the move. The DVD player is good for both videos as well as gaming content and it is quite interesting to use the Joypad which comes along with the player.

There are some features in the DVD player which are not so useful. For example, I have no clue what to do with the remote control. After all, the DVD screen is quite small and I am unlikely to place it too far from anyways. Other than that, I also feel the need to carry a spare battery with me if I am on a road trip…with just 2.5 hours battery life, it feels like the player has run out of battery just when you are about to complete the film (don’t forget, there are instances when the DVD player might not be in use….this does eat up some of the battery life).

Overall the DVD player does meet expectations but it would have been better if the pricing was a bit lower. There are various connectivity options which accompany the DVD player and you can connect it to external devices quite easily. The Omni GO is very aptly named and does provide you with ability to accept various formats and helps you stay entertained during solitary road trips. All you need to remember is to carry enough DVDs with you!
