The TomTom ONE V3 is a low-cost standalone GPS system aimed at the entry level market. It has a 3.5-inch LCD touch screen that provides clear visuals even in bright sunlight. Tapping in address or selecting on-screen icons is at much ease as the touch sensitive screen is good enough for all types of hands, be it medium or large ones. Although its lightweight design allows you to carry around, its well designed wind screen mount allows the unit to be secured safely.

The TomTom ONE V3 GPS offers clear and satisfactory routes with much prompt voiced instructions. The speakers provide sufficient volume allowing the instructions to be audible over other external noises. Despite the absence of multi-stop route, the TomTom V3 outperforms its competitors with the new Travel Via option that lets you plan a single intermediate stop on your journey. The model also features a 1GB internal memory which can be extended through a SD slot for memory cards. The maps are accurate and up-to-date and the unit is quick to latch onto a GPS signal. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery which lasts about 2 hours. However, the ONE can also be plugged directly into the cigarette lighter port.

The only downside would be the ‘Help Me’ option which is unreliable and causes a lot of confusion. However, the TomTom offers the best value for money and is way ahead of competitors in terms of its simple functionality.
