ASUS MyPal A730….all sound, no fury.

Strengths: Large display, good screen display and easy navigation

Weaknesses: Pretty much everything is on the lower scale of expectation

A730 MyPal from ASUS works well as an integrated PDA which offers the entire range of services one would expect in a PDA. However, offering the features is not enough. The A730 has performance issues present in all the features and this reduces the worthiness of the Pocket PC. On the positive front, the A730 foes include a really large screen which is not available in other PDAs and navigation is pretty smooth.

The sleek styling might mislead buyers to think that the ASUS MyPal is an excellent PDA. The issues range from simple things such as a poor battery life and goes up to complicated ones such as missing Wi-Fi. Do keep in mind that it is the A730W which has the Wi-Fi features and not the A730. The overall design of the ASUS PDA does not feel like it has been done with any thought and this gets a bit upsetting once you start using the unit.

The simple tip for this PDA would be not to buy it even if you get a good bargain for it. The PDA just does not match up to the expectation and it cannot compete well with the various PDAs already available in the market. The MyPal A730 has mixed reviews from users and people who are not very used toe gadgets are likely to enjoy using the PDA….however, the story is quite different with those of us who are familiar with the latest in technology!
