Full Review
Simpson offers washing machines of medium and large capacities in both its top loading and front loading series. The Simpson 22S750M with a capacity of 7.5 Kg is a top loading washing machine. It has a sturdy wash drum made of stainless steel for a long corrosion-free life. The steel lid is removable making it easier to detach and clean.
It has a WELS 3-star water savings rating as it consumes 104 litres per cycle which is not very water efficient. However, the auto water level feature is capable of detecting the clothes load and predicting the actual amount of water required for each wash. If you choose the eco-rinse option, you can save a minimum of 25% of the water used during each rinse. With only an Energy Star rating of 2, the Simpson 22S750M is not energy efficient either.
A host of wash programs are available to satisfy most domestic needs. There is an automatic fabric conditioner dispenser to add fabric softener before the deep rinse cycle. The progress indicator is very useful to determine the particular phase of the wash cycle, namely wash, rinse or spin phases. However, temperature selection is restricted to just three. The Simpson 22S750M is certainly a good washing machine, but it loses points as it’s not eco-friendly.

Sensational washer.
Despite the above review this washer is efficient. The ratings are based on loads using hot water. If you use cold water and set the machine to auto sensing of each load it will measure water accordingly. The energy efficient rating is based on hot and cold washes, noted here the machine has a rating of 648KW/Hr for a year *HOT and a rating of 57KW/Hr for *COLD, nobody I know washes in hot water as it has a negative effect on clothing over a prolonged period of time, warm wash is for manchester and bathroom products IMO.
I would highly recommend this washer, I purchased it for $700 recently (down from the advertised $899) after getting it price matched by Harvey Norman over Good Guys for cash. The Unit was also delivered and fitted all inclusive....
For the money it is a well balanced *Family* washing machine, the ratings are indicative of the price point the washer is in, very eco friendly washers are pushing $1200-$1400 for a base model (note Maytag washers at $1499 offer poor water ratings as do Whirlpool at $1000+ but they are reliable and will see out 15 years).
I urge people to make buying decisions based on their usage and try to change washing habits rather than buy a washer thats super eco friendly, good efficiency can be attributed by being water conscious and washing in off peak times. Note this is not a direct drive unit, it uses a motor and gear box, both of which drive a belt which can be replaced for little money in the future. Unit isnt whisper quiet but in a laundry it is near unheard.
