Strengths: Sleek looks, excellent add-ons, good performance and the Apple assurance of quality
Weaknesses: Slows down with new software, short period of toll-free support and cannot compete with Windows laptops which have better configurations than the MacBook and are priced lower as well.

Apple fans need no introduction this dream machine which has the looks of a designer laptop and above average performance. The Apple MacBook is undoubtedly one of the thinnest laptops around town and what makes it even more interesting is the fact that it manages to offer multimedia as well as high quality computing services under one window quite easily. However, it is not bereft of shortcomings so you are likely to face issues while trying to use any new software on the laptop.

The pristine while look of the laptop is enhanced with a on-board web camera and remote control (something which no other laptop has). Thanks to these features, the MacBook is quite an expensive piece of equipment and new users might get a bit upset with the limited toll-free support offered with the machine (you get a mere 3 months as compared to the industry standard of 12 months). However, the MacBook is still a lot better than the iBook and that is well recognized by long time Apple users.

Users looking for a laptop which has a higher configuration and are not so bothered by the looks might not find the MacBook a value-for-money purchase and opt for a Windows powered laptop even though the MacBook can run Windows XP. You have guessed it right…the speed of Windows XP on MacBook is really slow and that can be a solid dampener. Having said that; the MacBook is quite well suited for those who just need an Apple laptop and do not want to foot an exorbitant price tag.
