Weaknesses: Inferior electronic viewfinder

The Olympus SP-590UZ digital SLR camera comes with a focal length range equivalent to 26 - 676mm and a super-powerful 26X zoom lens to woo users. Other features like the 12-megapixel 1/2.33-inch sensor and 2.7-inch 230k monitor are pretty standard. For taking a wide variety of pictures, the Olympus SP-590UZ is equipped with various shooting modes like full auto, P, A, S, M, My Mode, Scene mode and a Beauty mode. New photographers will be confused with the lens that has 14 elements in 11 groups, including four aspherical elements and three ED elements.

The Olympus SP-590UZ digital SLR camera is also solidly built with a matte black plastic body and an aluminium lens barrel. A large and comfortable handgrip with a rear thumbgrip provides the perfect hold for taking extraordinary shots at any angle. A minor drawback is the electronic view finder which only offers average viewing quality. It could have gone with cheaper and efficient SD/SDHC cards that would have been great but it comes with just xD cards.

Along with the four AA batteries and the SD card it is quite heavy, but this is quite acceptable for a camera that is packed with so many great features.
