The Canon EOS 400D digital SLR camera is a superb camera designed for semi professionals. Its body is compact, lightweight and is nearly similar to its predecessor. It varies very narrowly with minor changes with the addition of tactile rubber placed around the finger grip and the rear of the camera. The battery grip attached to the base of the camera gives more space to hold the camera comfortably and also improves the balance of the camera. The mode dial, that is pre-set to various scene modes and exposure modes, is another amazing option in this camera that is designed for creative photography.

To improve the quality of the photographs, the EOS 400D digital SLR has incorporated an integral sensor cleaning system. Apparently it is Canon's first camera to have such a cleaning system. This feature helps you take sharper and clearer images with real life details. The layout of the controls has also been improved on this model. The quick access feature on some of the buttons is a real time saver. The Canon EOS 400D digital SLR camera is very easy to use, especially for those who are experimenting with a SLR camera for the first time. The lens and optics are not really up to the standard, but work well for a beginner.

Looking for a recommendation, it is worth the buy if you can let go the sub standard optics of the camera.
