Encouraged by the market response to the LCD range, Kogan has forayed into the plasma segment with the P42 Plasma TV. It is the one and only offering from the company in this segment and is hence loaded with all that Kogan can offer.

The 42-inch Full HD 1080p Plasma is a huge screen for any application and is an ideal choice for the living room. It boasts of a respectable 1024 x 768 resolution which provides satisfying high quality images. The widescreen display panel provided by Kogan delivers amazing high contrast images with progressive scan option up to 1080p and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 providing perfect blacks and vibrant colours.

The screen provides full High-Definition (HD) support with 3 HDMI input ports and also one S-Video port. The HDMI input allows HD input from devices including, PlayStation 3 and Blu-ray DVD players. Further adding to the feature list is its split screen function that allows you to watch two channels simultaneously.

The Kogan P42 offers a futuristic 100 Hz refresh rate which ensures smooth visuals. However, the rate is reduced to 60 Hz when connected to a PC. One major downside is the absence of a built in digital tuner making a set top box necessary.

Wall mounted and with its piano black finish, the screen looks every bit worth its money and possibly even more.
