All other equalizer modes sound good, but in NORMAL mode it sounds like the old vynil records, with tiny pops and skips. Since the Normal mode use ~10mA less current, many would want to use that mode to prolong the battery power.

No disrepect intended but tomyhass's comment is irrelevant

I have a T10 and love it - I absolutely NEVER use my T10 in "NORMAL" (NO) equalisation mode. The T series players use either one AA or one AAA bettery. If you use a NiMH battery like I do, they last and last and power consumption is never an issue, because you can just use a rapid charger to charge them. Buy two and you don't even have to be without music while the other battery charges. (If yo are not doing this with all your gadgets then you should be)

If the T60's sound is anything like the T10 then I would recommend it highly. Leaves the IPOD mini and Nano and shuffle for dead (I have a Mini as well). and at $170 the T60 is a lot cheaper.
