It captures pictures at lightning speed and offers a plethora of customisable options. The overlay option that blends raw pictures like Photoshop is very impressive. You can create your own tone curves with the pre-installed Camera Control Pro software. Another note-worthy feature is the re-touch menu that enables you to edit photos in the camera. This camera is compatible with an array of lenses.

This remarkable piece from Nikon does not have any major downfall, but it accepts only Nikon's official EN-EL3e batteries. A negligible lag in the shutter speed can be expected. The camera is not water-proof and this is excusable considering that weather-proof cameras belong to a totally different gamut. Moisture-proofing covers up for this option.

Canon, Pentax, Olympus and Sony are definitely up against some stiff competition because Nikon is all set to lead the SLR mega-league with its incredible camera.
