Strengths: Great screen, QWERTY keyboard, preloaded points of interest

A lot of heavy design work and improvement has gone in to develop the new S Series car GPS navigators from Navman. Similar in design, finish and form factor, the S series resemble one another in appearance but vary pre loaded points of interest. The Navman S45 GPS has a screen which is comparatively large and wide in size. Its QWERTY keyboard gives an edge to easily navigate the attractive redesigned interface and menu system. Another interesting feature, I personally like is its preloaded points of interest. This facilitates in getting to thousands of interesting locations for food, bank, even in midst of an unknown location. Along with its bundle of features, the street names spoken in Australian and pronounced very clear is an added advantage for the user.

One of the features which sounds and of course is a cause for concern is its fixed speed limit. The speed limit which is fixed to 60 km cannot be changed even in the freeways. All along the way, you will have to pointlessly bear up with the exceeding speed alert. Adding to the difficulty is that you will find it tough to use in the CBD area (Sydney). The ETA’S which are supposed to be making the GPS tracking easy, does not seem to be all that good when it comes to the Navman S45 GPS device.
