Canon has always entered late into the market, yet making its mark by sheer functionality. The Canon Pixma MP620 is one such example with a host of features such as memory card reader, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Wi-Fi connectivity enables wireless scanning and printing with an easy setup. The multifunction printer also supports USB and Ethernet connectivity making it ideal for small businesses. Canon’s 5–colour ink system provides vivid and true-life quality prints. The 9600 x 2400 dpi resolution ensures truer copies of originals and also bold black and white prints.

The quality of prints takes a toll on the print speed with print speeds of 26 ppm and 16 ppm for black and colour prints respectively leaving a lot to be desired. The 2.5-inch LCD screen is smaller than previous models and ends up being cumbersome.

The feature that makes the scanner stand out is the Smart Scanning system, which automatically detects the type of document or photo and selects suitable presets. Transfer of scanned files is easy with the option of storing directly onto memory devices or transferred to the PC. The printer gives flawless borderless printing and can be used to obtain quality photo prints.

Another drawback is that the ink usage is high requiring frequent cartridge replacement. The printer also lacks auto duplexing which makes double side printing arduous. Also the drawback of an auto document feeder makes it score low with office users.

An easy to use scroll wheel and paper feed cover are certain design attributes that make it user friendly and complement its functionality.
