Strengths: Good lenses and high image quality…the Digital camera comes in a sturdy frame

Weaknesses: This is an expensive piece of equipment which has been given a few negative points for poor cassette/tape management system.

If you have always imagined yourself with a camera which makes you look like a professional camera person and gives you a substantial sized camera to hold, then the Digital Mini DV from Canon is the answer you are looking for. The camera has many features which end up providing an excellent image output which can help you preserve your memories for a long time to come.

One of the plus points of all Canon cameras, and this one is no exception, is the ease of use. The navigation is simple and button driven and has a good response time which lets you get going within seconds. Since this camera has been designed for the budding professional, most of the manual controls are smooth and easy to use. That’s what you can expect from a camera from Canon.

However, even though the camera is an expensive buy, there are some inherent problems faced by many users (and most of them are home users). The camera tends to have a constant issue with the tape management system and sometimes users tends to get incorrect messages which makes you loose that special moment which you want to capture.

The XM2 is a definite improvement over the previous XM1 model and is likely to attract many buyers for its user friendly features as well as the overall ‘feel’ of the camera which replicates cameras which belong to a much higher price range than the XM2. The XM2 manages to fulfill a gap for cameras and there is no question about its style and technical prowess!
