The cannon EOS 50D is a mid range dSLR camera designed for those who are passionate about photography. It has got a lot of features that will definitely help them take their photography skills to the next level. Most of its features are similar to that of its predecessor, the Canon 40D. One of the new additions is the Creative Auto, a new semi-manual mode, which keeps most of the function in auto mode and lets you adjust a few settings, like aperture and shutter speed.
Looking at the good side, the D50 tops its kinds with a range of new and improved technologies, including a 15.1 megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor, the newly developed DIGIC 4 image processor, increased ISO capabilities, new Auto Creative mode and live face detection AF mode. The Auto focus system of the 50D is quick and accurate.
Even the dullest pictures look vibrant with 50D’s high-resolution LCD screen, which is definitely better than its predecessor 40D. It renders accurate and natural colours with great details. The anti-reflection coating is very helpful especially when you shoot outdoor. It helps you to see images clearly even under bright light.
On the downside, it is slightly heavier than its predecessor. It’s pretty surprising that canon hasn’t integrated movie recording in this DSLR.
