Strengths: The Tom Tom is a pretty stable Sat Nav system with a very affordable price tag.

Weaknesses: Tends to loose the user ( literally) in locations for which it does not have an updated map.

Satellite navigation systems are very useful specially if you are new to driving ( or keep getting lost!). The Tom Tom is one of the better Sat Nav software packages available and is extremely easy to set up even for the average newbie.

The downside of the navigation system is that it might blank out suddenly if it is not familiar with the route which mostly happens when the maps are not updated. Apart from that, some crossings are found to be missing in the software which can be quite hassling. However, if you do happen to miss a turn, the navigation system tends to recalculate and display a fresh set of values which is just as well.

The Tom Tom One is practically half the price of other known Satellite Navigation Systems and this makes it a good buy. It does fairly well on the motorway but does tend to get mixed up with some of the one-ways and dead ends.

On the usage front, the screen is slightly smaller than the more expensive navigation systems but it works pretty much on time. Apart from that, you can also connect the system to the PC (USB cord provided) and then access the Internet and download new updates etc.

Good buy and works just like other navigation systems but you should make sure that you are buying the latest version; otherwise you might get stuck with an outdated map…which might just take you to a farmer’s track!
