The Canon IXUS 100 IS is one such package presented to us and boy! is it great piece of photography equipment, packaged in the niftiest of bodies! Available in a couple of colors, the Canon IXUS 100 IS impresses up with the fact that it does not sacrifice features due to size. On the other hand, the space within the camera is really well utilized to give users ample room to work with..
Features are impressive at 12 megapixels and good auto modes which makes photography extremely easy. Once can also enjoy simple user benefits such as face shots, image stabilization etc. Available in classy colors like black, blue, red, gold and silver (availability dependent of course), they’re like an eye-candy you simply cannot stop ogling at. It’s not only about the look; it’s also about the performance and features. One of the unique features which caught my fancy is the blink detection, which helps to avoid mistimed portrait shots. Face-self-timer waits until the photographer is in the shot before taking the photograph. It’s a quality compact camera for those who look for a smooth finish and great style for everyday use.
Some issues do exist such as the lack of an HDMI cable which can be sorted out by buying an add-on. The other issue is that the view finder is really not what one would expect in such a high quality cam. Rest all is workable, do not expect manual features at any level and don’t even try to zoom when recording video coz that is not going to work!
