Strengths: It's more than likely a seagate drive, so that's a good thing

Weaknesses: 

Apple does a wonderful job of making sure you are voiding the warranty if you try and use a drive that isn't bought from them. You also get the added bonus of paying over a 300-500% markup in comparison to the drive capacity.

I think Apple would have been better served selling their modules seperate from the drives in order to keep us server people from deciding to buy IBM's because they are compatible with our stash of extra hard drives.

I'm not an Apple hater so don't take this as spam. I've been running an OSX server since 10.0 and I love it. I also run MS and Linux servers, and the Mac OS is the best for ease of use combined with functionality, but I expect Apple to throw us a bone, and make things a little easier for us Admin out there.
