Weaknesses: Slow. Not compatible with many other major programs.

I bought a brand new laptop on an on-line auction. There were many laptops being auctioned - some with Vista installed and some with XP. The XP laptops were selling for $200 to $300 more than the Vista equipped machines. To save money I bid on and bought a Vista equipped laptop. WHAT A MISTAKE !!!! I now realise that wiser bidders than me knew what a heap of rubbish Vista is and that is why they bid up the price of the XP machines.

After 3 weeks of trying I still can't get Vista (laptop) to work properly. It's much slower than my XP (PC) which has half the RAM and half the CPU that my new laptop has. The lap top came with Roxio installed but this is not compatible with Vista - what idiot installed that ?

I am constantly getting error messages, especially "Windows has ceased to respond". When I decide to restart the laptop it's so slow I can go away and make a cup of coffee before it's finished rebooting.

Would I buy Vista again ? Not in a million years !!!

Finally, to rub salt into the wounds, I tried to install Ubuntu and got as far as the following error message : "[17179656.268000] BUG : soft lockup detected on CPU#0" If I was a drinking man I'd go out and drown my sorrows n drink.
