If you have an interest in photography and look for a camera that gives you the goodies to play with your passion, then Canon EOS 500D is just the right gadget for you.

Also known as the Rebel T1i, this camera gives us higher resolution at a lower price-point, a beautiful VGA screen, and a lot more, all packed in a smaller and lighter body. The EOS 500D is aimed, very clearly, at the amateur photographer looking for a good package without taking a plunge into the higher ranges offered by Canon.

Many may argue that virtually everything in this camera is the same as the prior model: the dimensions, the kit lenses, the grip etc. Only a closer look makes us realize that all the significant changes are internal. The maximum ISO setting, for example, goes up to 3200 by default and can be maximized to as far as 12800 with a few changes in the custom settings. The most important change comes with the DIGIC 4 processor which, apart from taking exquisite pictures, also adds H.264 video encoding which let’s you take full HD videos.
