Finally, here comes a touchscreen phone you can buy without worrying about burning a hole in your pocket. Aptly named the “Cookie”, you wouldn’t feel like keeping it down once you get your hands on it. The phone can safely be called the most desirable and affordable touchscreen phone ever. You’d love to get your teeth into this Cookie, figuratively speaking of course.
Here are some of it’s features at a glance: The phone comes with a 3.2 MP camera, a media player that plays most popular digital music formats, a stereo FM radio, a good web browser that supports email and has a document viewer installed, an easily accessible stylus hidden at the base of the phone to scribble memos and draw at will, integrated handwriting recognition, USB and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, a memory card slot and a quad-band GSM operating frequency which keeps you on the move irrespective of your geographical location.
So what really makes the LG KP 500 so great? The phone has a large display and it is more compact than most touch phones found in the market. The Flash User Interface makes the Cookie an easy phone to use. The built-in accelerometer sensor, automatically rotates the display by sensing which way is up. For a games buff like me, the accelerometer makes the phone the coolest thing to have since it allows me to use hand-eye coordination while playing games. So I can tilt, shake, flip and turn the phone to control movement during games and for other functions as well.
Now let's take a look at what the phone lacks. The camera is limited to 3.2 megapixels, unlike some other LG phones which have a 5 or 8 MP camera, and there's no auto-focus or flash. The memory is also limited at 48 MB, but that doesn’t matter much because the phone allows the user to extend the memory up to 8GB. Since it's not 3G and there's no WiFi, web browsing doesn’t seem like a good option which is sad since the phone has a large display.
