Nice but not as cool as the original fragrance

Strengths: Packaging has certain personality, reasonable pricing and excellent staying power

Weaknesses: The original was far better than this one, no unique fragrant tones

Rarely are new editions of well known perfumes successful and the Gucci Pour Homme New falls in the rut. Sure the packaging is quite neat and the overall look and feel of the perfume exudes style and class. In fact, I am sure many people might even like the perfume (provided you have not had any experience with the original) thanks to its prominent oriental tones but it still is a poor cousin of the original Gucci Pour Homme.

In fact, it might be somewhat unfair to compare with the other well known Gucci fragrances since there are major differences in the base notes. The perfume is well suited for men between the age group 25 to 45 but I am sure anyone more mature would like a perfume with some more substance. The effort is definitely a good one but you might end up feeling like you have smelt Gucci Pour Homme New somewhere else as well.

It is staying power (which is really long) and the reasonable price tag which might still lead this perfume in the markets. I was not overly impressed since I have already had a close encounter with the Gucci Pour Homme of the 70s but would not mind recommending this perfume to anyone who is looking for a reasonable and well balanced perfume and is quite suitable as a gift too.
